Open Beta preparations have begun for the MMORPG Dragon Oath which will be open for testers on November 5th.  Dragon Oath is the first U.S. launched title for China's largest online games publisher, ChangYou.  To give you an idea of what we mean by largest, they have over 75 million registered users that by any standard is gigantic.  While this is still an open beta "test" the Dragon Oath client has already been proven stable, in fact it holds records in the eastern markets in terms of player base reaching near 1,000,000 concurrent players at any given time.  Registrations are being taken for the U.S. open beta on the official site at www.dragonoath.com. 

“Our strategy for success,” said Martin Tan, General Producer of ChangYou.com (US) Inc, “is we want to merge eastern and western markets, to find the line upon which both sides will walk and enjoy. One of the first things we did was to examine Dragon Oath and see how it compared to other Free-2-Play games in our space. So we started looking through the features list to see what set us apart from our competitors. At around feature 181 – we realized we probably will have one of the most content rich MMOs on the market...”

After a brief re-development mostly due to the localization of Dragon Oath, the game will be the first title brought from ChangYou.com (US) Inc. to the USA and will be used to build a platform for launching further titles to Western audiences. During the Closed Beta period since Sept. 24, Dragon Oath had more than 20,000 participants and the feedback from users has been overwhelmingly positive.

Western MMO Veteran Steven C. Wade says the Open Beta “was a great success”. “We achieved all of our internal goals and because we are not only the publisher, but the developer we worked very closely with our testers to change a great deal of game functions to help bridge that canyon between western and eastern players,” he said.

Dragon Oath is a five-year "labor of love" as they put it, by over 500 top programmers with a $200 million total investment. What was brought to the U.S. market is an ultimate version after three years of constant developments and updates in Asia. Enhanced features are introduced every week and expansion packs every month. Dragon Oath will open its world to all players and give them a chance to experience the rich martial arts and game-play in its entirety this November!

Mortal Online Adds Housing System and Other Content

Mortal Online, currently in beta testing, has added a few new systems to the growing list of features.  The NDA is currently in effect so we can't layout an entire overview but we can say that the game has gotten its initial version of the housing system, a system that allows players to focus on gathering various resources in order to construct and maintain their housing within the game.  

In addition to the housing system, players will be able to obtain riding mounts for faster travels.  Technical improvements have also been implemented to the game client which allow for better patch updates and increased server capacity. 

Mortal Online is a pvp based mmorpg from Epic Games that has been fairly quite in regards to overall beta buzz, but honestly offers a dynamic and graphically pleasing game environment for those that enjoy guild based combat.

Trickster Online: A New Discovery is going to be getting a major content update on November 4th.  Some of the new features include a new Surprise Spot, Card Identification, Guardians and Enlightenment!

"We communicate a great deal with our Trickster community and these new features are some of the things they have told us they would like to see," said Chris Lee CEO of Ntreev USA.  "With this new update, players will get all kinds of new opportunities to unlock mysteries, increase skills."

Surprise Spot

The new surprise spot system is a fun and useful daily quest that will give players access to special vendors and NPCs as well as drilling bonuses.  Every day players will have an opportunity to find map pieces that can be combined and used to find buried treasure. The spot where the buried treasure is hidden will either give players large amounts of items when excavated, or teleport the Trickster to a hidden map.

Card Identification

Cards are an integral part of the Trickster Lore and game system. The new Card Identification system will add another use for Cards that pushes them beyond fun flavor and into a game defining tool.  The new
Card Identification system lets Tricksters use cards to create new items from their cards by playing a matching game.  More importantly, it gives Tricksters access to the Secret Cards of Caballa Island. When
Tricksters find all 16 secret cards they will be granted access to the new and exciting Enlightenment.

Enlightenment

The path to becoming a true Trickster has been long and, thus far, unending.  Now players will be given a chance to become a true Trickster and unlock the Guardian that will protect them. Once Tricksters find all 16 cards they will be granted access to a special series of quests that will plant the Soul Seed within them.  The Soul Seed will carefully watch the actions of the Trickster and form a guardian inside it. When the Soul Seed is ready it will unlock the Trickster Guardian.   

Guardians

There are four guardians: Magic, Charm, Sense and Power. The nature of the Trickster will determine the guardian a Trickster receives. When the guardian is active, it will follow the Trickster and protect the
Trickster with its life. Guardians are essentially combat pets that will attack and help the Trickster.
