Galactic Civil War: Forces Under Siege Keeps SWG In Stride

So if you think Star Wars Galaxies is just going to roll over now that Old Republic is inching its way closer to the market, think again.  SOE has been carefully crafting the latest update 'Galactic Civil War: Forces Under Siege' to breath fresh air back into the game that has always been a great beneficiary of constant updates.

Sony Online Entertainment is also offering eligible former players the opportunity to come back to Star Wars Galaxies for free between February 1 and March 1. With the balance of power in the galaxy at stake, anyone who can tote a blaster or lend support is needed on the front lines! Eligible player accounts will be automatically reactivated – players can simply log in to rejoin the action! For those who choose to re-subscribe before the free period ends, a special in-game painting will be given as a reward.

Altis Gates Guilds Recruiting for Closed Beta

IGG’s latest magical offering, Altis Gates (http://ag.igg.com), recently closed the curtains on their short Alpha Test, to much applause. Both the representatives of media sites and the veteran players that were specially invited had a lot of positive feedback for the Altis Gates team. With the AT concluded, their attention is now focused on the Closed Beta test, specifically the big guilds that will provide the intense competition that this new title thrives on.

Altis Demonic HallowGuild recruitment has started on January 25th, 2010, EST (GMT-5) and will continue through till February 11th. Throughout this period, the Altis Gates team will be encouraging guild leaders to submit applications for CB activation keys. During the CB itself, all the guilds will be ranked according to the sum of the character levels of all their members. This ranking table will be refreshed every 4 days, and at the end of the CB, the top ranked guilds will be rewarded with some fancy prizes for the Open Beta test.

The rewards for the top 10 guilds will be large Guild Bundles that can be redeemed when the OB starts. Each member of the winning guilds will receive 5 Treasure Maps, 2 Power Crystals and 2 Crystals of Attack. The higher the final ranking of the guild, the better the items! Guild leaders will also get some exclusive prizes for their work in leading the guild to the top of the rankings!

For more details on the Guild Recruitment, please head over to the Altis Gates event page: http://ag.igg.com/event/guild/.

Grand Chase

Battle of the 3's

Ntreev is hosting a new gaming tournament for Grand Chase which starts today.  The 64 teams of 3 will compete in a bracket sytle tournament with the winner taking home a $200.00 Amazon gift card.  If you love to battle it out for loot, here is your chance.

You Think You Can Brawl - kicks off its registration today, January 27th at 5 PM PDT. To see all of the tournament rules and regulations, players can visit http://grandchase.ntreev.net.

Following the success of the first ever Grand Chase World Tournament in South Korea, the "You Think You Can Brawl" tournament is moving back to the 3v3 team format and using all of the same rules and restrictions from the World Tournament. Open to all active competitors in the North American Grand Chase Community, it's now time to see how teams fare under the same exciting format as the GWC.

"We know our players look forward to this type of fast-action tournament play, and we are excited to introduce this new "You Think You Can Brawl" Tournament to the Grand Chase community," said Chris Lee, CEO at Ntreev USA. "This tournament is very extensive with 34 teams involved so players can look forward to some tough competition."

The tournament will consist of 64 teams of 3, with no level restrictions, whose team captain registers their team on a first-come, first-served basis on the official tournament registration thread.

All participant's accounts must have been registered before December 1, 2009 and be in good standing. The first four rounds will be played in the familiar single elimination format. Teams will play one series of best two out of three in the semi-final round, and in the final round the two finalist teams will play one series of best of three out of five.

Winners can look forward to outstanding prizes including a $200 Amazon.com Gift card for each member of the winning team, as well as 30 days Black Champ armor. The second place team will each get 20,000 points and 15 days Black Champ and the 3rd place team will score 10,000 points and 15 days White Champ per team member.

 Kung Foo

Kung Foo!Opens Second Testing Phase

Perfect World's newest MMORPG 'Kung Foo!" is set to launch its closed beta 2 testing today and the GM's have put together a fun event to go along with the festivities.  Not completely unlike the MMO 'Fiesta' graphically, Kung Foo! takes a light hearted approach to gameplay with things like pig mounts and elvis costumes.

A quick look at the so-called "Infomercial" shows the humor of the production team behind the game, and considering this is from the same publishers as Perfect World International you can be sure they will keep the updates coming after launch.

If you want to get your hands on $50.00 worth of Game Currency (Zen), there is a find the GM event that allows players to search for an admin-at-large using screenshot tips.. First player to find them by messaging them and stating the location wins.

To see more on the game or to get registered to play in the closed beta, head over to the official site at http://foo.perfectworld.com/
