New Level Cap Increase, Specializations, Zone Added To Karos NHN Games has announced some major changes and additions to their free-to-play fantasy MMORPG Karos Online! The game has been extensively updated over the past two weeks, and players will be able to level up to 60, explore the new zone of Bhalasong, choose a second character class specialization and test their new skills in a thrilling new floor of the Antcave dungeon. Many bug fixes and gameplay improvements have been added, with particular attention given to early levelling.
"We want new Karos Online players to have the best possible experience while coming to grips with the game," said Heejin Jeong, Senior Overseas Sales Manager at NHN Corporation. "Taking into account what players have told us, we've refined the starting area, and we believe that now the new player experience is smoother and more fun than ever. We hope you'll enjoy it, and please let us know what you think!"
Karos Online is currently in open beta, and NHN welcomes all comments from players in the official forums at www.karosgame.com.
The second class specialization is a much-anticipated addition planned to go live next week, which will take combat to a whole new level for experienced players. For each class, two additional specialization options will become available upon completion of a special quest chain at level 55, which sends players to the brand new Sentryheil Tower Entrance. For their second specialization, players can choose to focus on targeting single allies/opponents for maximum impact, or specialize in area-of-effect skills that protect or threaten groups.
A comprehensive list of specializations for each class can be found on the Karos Online website at http://www.karosgame.com/gameinfo/characters.nhn.
Bhalasong is a wild and dangerous zone designed for players at or above level 44. It is a land of lethal contrasts, with luxurious jungles, sinister forests and scorched lava lands. The creatures of Bhalasong, from brutal gorillas to deceptively beautiful dryads, will test even the strongest warriors.
Also, players brave enough to enter the Antcave will now be able to face its fearsome fourth floor (if they survive that long!), where even deadlier dangers and more wonderful treasures await.
All up to date information about Karos Online can be found at www.karosgame.com, and more features will be revealed as the open beta continues. |

GodsWar Online: New Instance -Defending Lelantine The Lelantine Farm Instance was released last week with the newly updated version of GodsWar Online. The focus is on determining which of the two factions has the muscle to accumulate the most points by killing the nasty dogs that have overrun the island before the clock winds down.
Here are a few highlights: No I in Team Remember that this is the first instance in GodsWar where PvP is strictly prohibited. Whichever faction can come up with the best score will be declared the winning team.
Keep in mind that a good way to win the team extra points is to kill the boss character, the Hell Bulldog. Killing this bulldog will add 1000 points to the scoreboard, but there is only one, so be sure that it is your team that gets it. Moreover, for killing the enemy boss, all members of the team will receive a dazzling title and recognition from the community.
Capture a Loyal Puppy Another highlight is the Loyal Puppy Reward. Loyal Puppies are set loose at the start of the instance, and they can be captured on the farm using capturing tools. Once a loyal puppy is captured, a loyal puppy egg will automatically be placed in the backpack. The reward will be distributed based on the rank of the puppy traded.
Skill Advancement for Pets Last but not least, in Lelantine, there is a good chance for players to uncover Level 2 and Level 3 skill books for pets after defeating elite monsters and the enemy boss. It is a great way to make your pet stronger, and in turn, boost the core strength of your team. You can’t lose by participating. Besides, you won’t want to miss out on all the fun!

Update 6: 'Return of Thoth-Amon' now live on 'Age of Conan' servers Funcom has announced that the company has released another massive free update to ‘Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures’. The new update follows in a long line of free updates that have all introduced massive amounts of new content, new features and groundbreaking enhancements to the massively multiplayer online game that was awarded ‘Most Improved MMO of 2009’ by MMORPG.com earlier this year due in part to the many additional hours of content and gameplay that the development team has introduced to the game since launch.
“I am very pleased to say that the feedback we have received from our community on Update 6 so far is very good,” says Funcom Game Director and Executive Producer Craig Morrison. “The new guild renown feature is becoming very popular, and we are already seeing guilds compete against each other in order to score higher on the guild rankings. We really feel that this additional layer of gameplay will add a lot of depth to the game, especially in terms of creating an even better social environment on the servers.”
Update 6: ‘Return of Thoth Amon’ introduces the much anticipated guild renown feature, where any guild on any server can acquire renown points that unlock exclusive rewards. Anything that the members of that guild do – fighting monsters, fighting other players, crafting items – will generate renown for the guild. Renown points will unlock guild levels, and will for instance allow the guild to decorate their guild city with new buildings, statues and banners, or allow the guild’s members to gain access to exclusive item rewards. Players can view a list of the top ranking guilds on all servers from inside the game as well as through the new guild rankings website available on the community portal.
The update also introduces tons of new content, mainly the addition of Thoth-Amon’s Stronghold – a new dungeon featuring, for the first time ever, tier three raid content. Here players will be able to encounter Conan’s arch-nemesis Thoth-Amon and even fight alongside King Conan himself.
Launching in May 2008 ‘Age of Conan’ quickly became a smash hit in retail, shipping over 1.2 million copies around the world. In North America, the most prominent online gaming market in the west, ‘Age of Conan’ became the third best-selling PC title of the year in 2008. In the weeks after launch ‘Age of Conan’ simultaneously topped the charts in 17 countries, and the game received critical acclaim from gaming press across the globe. ‘Age of Conan’ is now available in English, French, German, Spanish, Russian and Polish localized versions, and is being prepared for launch in Korea as well.
For more information and how to purchase ‘Age of Conan’ please visit www.ageofconan.com. ‘Age of Conan’ is also available as a free trial for players wanting to try their luck in Hyboria. |
