Lunia Gets Major Update In Myth 4

It's not a myth - the fact is ijji.com is launching never-before-seen content in the popular anime-influenced massively multi-player online role-playing game (MMORPG), Lunia.  For avid players and curious gamers, ijji.com presents "Myth 4," an expansive update that includes vicious bosses with nothing to lose, a stress-free market system, fresh new character abilities, mind-blowing weapon upgrades and occult dangers lurking behind every corner.

"Lunia is a wildly popular online game, as it appeals to the RPG community and anime fans alike," said Calvin Yang, vice president of marketing, NHN USA, which hosts  ijji.com. "This exciting new upgrade will satiate both groups, and maybe more across
the online gaming spectrum as well, bringing an entirely new dynamic to this game with intense challenges, bountiful rewards and improved logistics. Existing players have new reasons to dive into Lunia, and new players to take a second look."

Lunia's long-awaited upgrade offers gamers a vibrant and stimulating alternative to other MMORPGs on the market. In addition to increasing in-game rewards, the Myth 4 upgrade includes:

  • A wider array in classes, additional characteristics and sizes of bosses and monsters, and challenging close-attack characters - further aiding fast-paced gameplay
  •  Surprises lurking in dark corners as hidden bosses emerge to seek the complete  annihilation of player's bright-eyed, yet feisty characters
  •  Hidden black holes that engulf unsuspecting player, stripping them of their mana - a blow difficult to overcome
  •  An improved and simplified market system where players can avoid the hassle and stress often associated with stocking up on supplies and novelty items in Town Square
  •  The addition of new, upgraded weaponry for characters to bash and slash adversaries like never before

The story of Lunia revolves around an intricate plot of mystical characters and fantasy settings. The game possesses a unique anime-influence - with cell shading, in the style of Japanese Manga comics. Players battle monsters and each other over the course of multiple, increasingly difficult episodes, making their way through winding storyline of this mystical tale.

Lunia-tics can check out these recent updates to the game.

Kung Foo! Closed Beta Haulted, Re-Launch Planned

Perfect World Entertainment Inc., has made it official.  Kung Foo!, their mmorpg that just entered closed beta, will be brought offline and relaunched later this year with a new expansion containing additional content and optimized localization. This is surprising news since those that have followed the mmo in pre-launch got the feeling that everything was looking good in terms of progress.  The game is based on Legend of Martial Arts, a popular MMO in China, Kung Foo! parodies the MMO experience in a fun and frivolous manner. In preparation, closed beta servers will be taken down on Tuesday, February 16.

Foo

“We want to thank all of our Kung Foo! closed beta testers for their great feedback about the game,” said Craig Beers, Product Manager for Kung Foo! “The closed beta reboot for Kung Foo! means that we will be able to implement players’ feedback so that we can provide players with the best experience possible. When Foo! returns later this year it will be bigger and badder than ever! ”

This is actually the second launch in a row from PWE that has had issues and required a re-launch.  I expect that we may be seeing new postions open up for the publisher, mainly in Q&A.  For the latest updates on Kung Foo!, players can sign up for the newsletter at the official website at http://foo.perfectworld.com/

Runes of Magic

The 6,000 Euros Up For Grabs By European Players

Last week, Frogster announced the new chapter for Runes of Magic, 'Chapter III – The Elder Kingdoms'. To celebrate this announcement, all European players (and hopefully North America to Follow) are invited to participate in a large-scale hunt from Monday, 15th February through to Friday, 19th February. Six chosen ones among the opponents of a mighty sorcerer who appeared today in the fantasy online game will be each rewarded with 1,000 Euros.

A new threat looms over Taborea. Rumours of the presence of a powerful Zurhidon mage in some of the most remote regions of the kingdom reached Varanas. The Eye of Wisdom seems to be concerned about the machinations of the dangerous character after reports of its observers: he is supposed to attack the heroes to strip them of all their runes. Yarandor, First Mage of the Eye, issued wanted posters and put a price on the head of the villain, promising the moon and the stars to the player who can defeat the dark sorcerer's projects.

A new community event called 'The 6,000 Euros Challenge' will send players on the trail of this rising Zurhidon evil in order to face him one to one in a terrible battle. Every day until Friday, on all servers, the first player to challenge the terrible magician in a duel will be offered a bundle of items from the game's Item Shop which will help his progression in the world of Taborea.

But the rewards will not only be virtual objects. Every day, Frogster will offer 1,000 Euros to one of the most courageous who manages to find and engage in a duel with the Runewalker. The winner will be randomly selected once a day amongst players from all European servers who have challenged the Zurhidon sorcerer, whether they defeat him or not. But that is not the only to win, on Friday Frogster will draw lots among the Runes of Magic accounts which have logged into the game Monday - Friday and award 1,000 Euros to the winner.

It is now up to players to start the hunt to find the lair of the Runewalker and to discover what his evil plans are. For more information and the terms of contest, go to: www.runesofmagic.com
