World of Warcraft Voice Communication Service Enters Open Beta
Vivox, makers of voice communication for online games, has just launched a service (puggable.com) giving World of Warcraft (WOW) players the ability to use voice chat to communicate with other WOW players in-game. This voice chat service is intended to make it easier for players to find groups, form raids, and coordinate player events without the need to switch out of game applications.
Puggable.com will support WOW players wishing to improve in-game communication by providing a small Mod download that will integrate the voice chat feature with the WOW game client.
Voice chat of course has long been a major part of MMORPG gameplay which include services like Teamspeak, Skype, and Ventrilo but this new service further improves the concept of player communication and game integration.
WOW players can download the voice chat mod at puggable.com during the open beta phase of the service.
