WoW

Why Fury Warriors are Still the Premier Warrior Build in World of Warcraft.

Fury Warriors are the ultimate PVE dps weapon of the three Warrior Builds.  While Arms Warriors are more suited for PvP in World of Warcraft through their balance of Damage and Defense, Fury is all about damage, which is primarily used for quicker leveling.  Many Warriors with a Fury build will respect in end game for better raid usage; although, since The Wrath of the Lich King introduced Death Knights, the Warrior Class as a whole has seen a decline in comparable effectiveness.  The build that should have seen the greatest negative effect is the tanking specialist, Protection Warrior; however, Blizzard has given far more attention to that tree in terms of balancing.WoW Fury Warrior

For any WoW player looking to get their warrior to level 80 in the fastest amount of time possible, the Fury Warrior is still the tree you want to invest in.  Not only do you get tremendously fast damage via  Improved Cleave and Improved Whirlwind while in combat, but you look good doing it: That Plate Armor looks like a million bucks.

Warriors have always been known as the Tanking Class, but the main trait of the WoW Fury Warrior is of course the Dual Wielding 2H weapon, which is in contrast to the 2H single weapon of the Arms Spec, and the 1H single weapon +Shield of the Protection Warrior.  Fury Warriors gain this ability via Titan's Grip which is the 51 point Fury talent that allows dual-wielding of Axes, Maces, and Swords.  You don't get to dual up polearms...Although that would be crazy to watch with Berzerker.

One of the tough choices you have to make is whether to use a slow offhand or not.  Many players ask the question "What is the best weapon choice for warriors?".  Many Warriors opt for the faster offhand, but the increased speed does not allows amount to more damage as I see a far greater benefit from the statistical point of view.  What it comes down to is what you can afford at any given time, do not just go for the faster weapon, use the one that gives you the greater improvement to your stats.  I would rather crit on an enemy more often than having a steady higher normal damage output any day.

As far as builds go, there is alot to consider.  Realistically you will not have the same build organization throughout your 1-80 journey in World of Warcraft.  It makes sense to respec based on how your role evolves within your guild and general WoW game play.  Since most warriors share similar traits until level 50, your first consideration of respec comes here, than at least one more time at level 80 with a wild card after every major update.

For example, the build you like now may change significanly with 3.2 because of the increased dps that Blizzard is giving to warriors and possibly major changes to the number of stances that will be required in any given battle. Blizzard, to the dismay of Fury Warriors will not be adding more abilities per stance, they will add more reliance on changing stances.  Further, once you have your levels and begin more raids you will quickly see how Improved Execute & Improved Bloodrage are far better than Slam is on most bosses.

The point is that Fury Warriors are still the premier tree of the warrior builds and any time you add that kind of damage to get levels quicker, you will always come out ahead.  While not as effective in PVP, 80 levels can be a long way to go and getting there faster is monumental.
