Star Wars Galaxies: The Fury of Exar Kun Patch

SWG made this week’s Patch of The Week Award easy with such a gloriously generous content update to the Star Wars Galaxies MMORPG. This was a truly well done update that brings new content such as Exar Kun Heroic Instance, PVP Collections, Power-Up Buff Icons, Storyteller Features, Stackable Foraged Food Components, Civil War Progress Tracker, and many other useful improvements and fixes. Exar Kun hosts a moderately sized patch that is filled to the brim with just the type of content that end gamers are looking for.

The most impressive update to the game is of course the Temple of Exar Kun Herioc Instance that takes players into multiple instances over several world environments. These are no easy challenges, they are high-end, high payout instances that bring players face to face with Chapter 9's Sith Lord.

For those that may not fully understand the task of making large content updates to Star Wars Galaxies, consider the fact that most mmorpg dev teams can creatively add new aspects to a game's storyline with little negative fan reaction. Star Wars Galaxies on the other hand must work very carefully with the existing storyline, which of course is one of the most famous and documented story lines ever imagined. You can't just add an instance in this mmorpg, you need to go back into the Star Wars™ archives and delicately select areas that can be included.

In addition to the Temple of Exar Kun, Improved collections for PVP have been implemented which give players the ability to showcase their achievements, while also rewarding those achievements with bonus factional rewards and additional incentives. Star Wars Galaxies Chapter 9 also adds more tools for storytellers, including storyteller blueprints that can be purchased from the Storyteller Vendor. And for players that like to keep up on the progress of the galactic civil war, Chapter 9 also features a War Terminal that gives a read-out of the War Situation.

These are just a few of the many updates that have been included in the Exar Kun Update, you will want to look over all of the patch notes to see exactly what you can expect from this update. MMOFury knows that adding content like this into any mmorpg is a great benefit to players, and adding it to such a renowned storyline makes it even more impressive.
