Perfect World is nearing its Chinese launch anniversary, and preparing for the launch of its Perfect World Philippines version, which is currently in Beta testing. MMOFury took another look at this unique mmorpg and tells players what they can expect from a game that has taken a different approach to get players personally conected with their characters.
Perfect World Philippines is a free to download, free to play mmorpg that, like most free download games, has a purchase item shop feature that allows players to buy items like mounts, pets, consumables, fashion gear, tools, and a number of other helpful items. Some of of the shop items require a minimum character level, such as the flight devices that can be use by level 30 players and up.
The attribute system in Perfect World gives players 2 ways to upgrade their Equipment; Equipment Refining, and Soul Stone Fusion. Equipment refining is a process that allows the player to increase the stats on an item as a whole, while Soul Stone Fusion is a process in which equipment attributes can be increased by infusing soul stones into equipment slots. This feature adds a good way to customize your gear and is easy to manage but still complicated enough to give the bean counters of the world something to stay occupied with.
One of the most admired features of the game that will of course be carried over to the Perfect World Philippines version is the character customization. We, like all gamers have wondered why there is little customization in mmorpgs, this is not the case for Perfect World. Players can customize almost every aspect of the human face, giving the ability to create a character that can truly look just like the player. Of course, not everyone wants their character to look like them, no problem. If you want, you can even get creative enough to make a character that looks like your favorite celeb, your best friend, or just some random looking toon. We have to say that this feature really puts Perfect World ahead of their competition, and eliminates one of the most common player complaints...original looking characters.
Character Customization is not the only real benefit to playing this mmorpg. Perfect World boasts a PVP system, that like WoW divides the map into PVP zones where players can clash with oponents using everything from mounts, flight devices, or one of several other weapons of choice. The down side to the PVP system is that players under level 30 can't attack and can not be attacked by other players. This is a rather severe level requirement for those that love to rage PVP battles from the moment they step into the game's world, but it does reduce the griefing caused by annoying players. The Perfect World Phillippines version will not have any differences in the PVP system compared to its earlier versions, and will feature the common blue, white, pink, red color system for PVP.
We have to say that for those players that have not played this mmorpg, whether you will be playing the Philippines version, or previous release, it is a well done game worth trying out. Perfect World caters to those that enjoy more about mmorpgs than just fighting while still giving PVP addicts something to enjoy. Players can expect to get a game that is rich with content, unique features, and a Dev team that is focused on making Perfect World a world wide success.
