Mmorpg have gained rapid acceptance within the gaming circles of the world. Mmo games are still gaining a lot of popularity among new players. Mabinogi is one such mmorpg which was released by a South Korean company named Nexon.
The game was an instant hit and saw a rapid surge in online gaming community. It deals with a fantasy world, which aims to provide players with a memorable and colorful gaming experience.
Recently, Mabinogi got hacked by a 16 year old boy who took control of over 300 thousand dollars of virtual in-game currency. It must be noted here that the boy did not break into Mabinogi’s security systems neither did he use Trojans or scripts. According to detailed investigation reports, the boy actually wanted to have access to a specific princess dress. The boy used some software from an illegal website to get his hands on the password and login ID of a former employee of Nexon. With the help of the ID, the boy was able to manipulate the game as he willed. However, this happened because the password and ID of the former employee were not being used and were less protected than the IDs of other employees and players of the game.
The online gaming experience of Mabinogi remains the same and is being further strengthened so that players feel comfortable and experience more thrill and excitement.
The security of players’ accounts is absolutely guaranteed by Mabinogi’s developers and they need not worry about in game hacking because the game’s design and orientation doesn’t allow even the best of hackers to break through. Current and new players are therefore informed that they can safely play Mabinogi without worrying about account thefts and hacking. However, they are advised to guard against Trojan and virus attacks against their own computers so that any mischievous hacker cannot obtain their ID and password.
