Galaxy Online: Battle Strategies

Once you have built certain fleets, you might feel tempted to step outside your homeland and explore the universe. Waiting for you ahead is the Galactic Pirates. As a beginner, it is extremely dangerous to rush forward empty-headedly. The worst you will lose all your warships in one single battle. A sensible strategy is needed. If you have 50 Level 5 ships, you can try attacking the 1-star pirates yourself. When you are ready for combat, remember to launch your tanking fleets earlier than your main forces, as the first ones out of the Stargate they will be taking the brunt of damage. The time interval of your tanking fleets and main force's arrival in the destination is very important. Also, it is always a good idea to adjust the attack mode of your main force to "Lock Commander".

In addition, the more tanking warships you have, the more likely it is you'll win the battle.

After defeating the pirates, send your colonial ships to occupy planets at once. Time is everything in this game. You will pay hugely for your delay. If you join a Corps, you can ask the Corps leader to lock the galaxy, then other players won't be able to enter or inspect it.
If you want to attack 2-star pirates, you should take many more warships and enough supplies. Before that, have a go at the training field to set up the best array
