Aion Class Showcase: Sorcerer
With Aion closed beta 5 nearing, we would like to feature one of many great classes of the game. The Sorcerer class of Aion is a Daeva which follows the Star of Magic. The Sorcerer is the master of natural elements such as Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water. Primary weapons are spells that can be cast from books and orbs rather than traditional weapons. Sorcerers are very destructive forces in pvp, but can be one of the more difficult classes to master due to the reliance on spell rotation and movement technique. This class can not take damage like mele classes and players must be very clever in how they approach an enemy or they will have a difficult time winning battles.
Sorcerer skills such as Paralyses, Chains of Ice, and Metoeorite Impact are the battle changing skills that will be required to have the best pvp outcomes in Aion. The goal of the Sorcerer is to slow or stop an apponent from reaching attack range and if used correctly they can be respectable in crowd control. As far as the best pvp parties are concerned, a group of 3 that includes a healer, a sorcerer, and an assassin, would be a deadly force on the battle field. This kind of party would rely on the traditional triangle battle formation which would give enough separation to confuse the enemy but still be in assist range with each other.
Sorcerers receive Robe Mastery for their gear which gives little in terms of physical defense but is typical with Casters. Primary destructive spells include Winter's Embrace, Explosion, Burn, and Mist of Soul which give both instant damage and damage over time. Players looking for an easy to manage class should not choose the Sorcerer, if you play this class expect busy keyboard and mouse work as you will have to constantly on the move while casting your spells. PVE will require a load of heal pots but PVP will make it all worth it.
