Attention Slackers
If you are one of the growing number of questionable players that like to play MMOs without actually doing anything, then get ready for a new way to gain those levels in IGG's 2029 Online. As probably one of the worst additions to a game this year, 2029 Online now features an "Offline Robot" that allows players to gain xp while logged out. I don't want to get too philosophical here, but what is the point of playing a game that you don't really play? Are we so focused on just having a high level character that the path to get there is no longer important? IGG may soon announce that it is featuring all of the new players can log in with a cap-max player right from the beginning, no leveling needed - Will that help players "get into" the game? Don't get me wrong, I understand that almost all gamers want to feel important in game, and that means higher levels, and not all players have the same time to invest - Enter cheats, gold buying, bot programs, etc.. Slacking is not new to gaming. I guess I am just a bit confused about the overall point to this new item, other than to add another source of revenue for the game publisher. Oh, did I mention that the "Offline Robot" also comes in the premium store version called the "Advanced Offline Robot" that can be purchased to get a higher xp rate and increased overall duration (18 hours compared to 12 hours).
I know why IGG added it, for revenue. But, there are far more creative ways that game publishers can capitalize off premium stores without having to put something this pointless in to the game. Run xp events that require premium items, sell xp rate potions, add a premium dungeon that gives great xp, the list goes on... At any rate, if you want to get this new slacker item, just go to the vendor NPCs in Bright City, Jungle, or Power Core. For a certain amount of gold, you can buy an offline robot that gives their character EXP for up to 12 hours spent offline within a 7-day period. Or, you can buy the premium version from the item shop to get more xp over 18 hours.
