The Graphics of this arnt that amazing but they do give a fill of a type of old school fill and at first appriance the game might seem like a timewaster on closer inspection it is actually very addictive , also the interface assostiated in battles is very simple and easy to get a grip on but since it is a hack n slash it does become quite repetative but this is made up for by the variety of skills each class has and the fact that each class is actually 2 classes in one with the ability to switch bettween the two whenever you want.

The charecter custumisation is sumwhat limited as you are unable to change your charecters appriance really and also during charecter selection you are also uable to select genders of your charecter, but on the orther hand charecters can stats can be custumised different ways this leaves players with the ability to make variety builds with a sense of originality , as for items there are a variey of gears and armours to hunt and get but as for the crafting system , while depedant on a charecters luck stat is dissapointing since you really custumise the prefix you get and the ability to get a good prefix is reliant on real life luck.

As for quests there a laarge variety of quests avalable and the game's main quest is highly interqueted throughout the game but unfortunatly some quest are really annoying to during the objective to get an item as it can take a long grinding period just to get one item also there are secreat dungeon quests which give a higher reward than normal quest and are quite fun to play through.

As for the pvp system the game has a pvp server but unfortunatly due to some of the classes being overpowered on the server and being unable to buy all items needed the pvp server is rather annoying but this is made up by the normal servers GVG wars and Siedge wars where guilds can battle out for fun or for the orthers Guild War

Overall the game is very fun and addictive and orther players inside the game are quite helpful but due to the games low advertising and lack of much players the game is unable to put much funding into adding features.

Red Stone Review 8/10 Overall

4 of 4 people found the following review helpful
Graphics--6: The game is in 2d, which is quite uncommon these days, but the graphics are very well done. The tiles fit seemlessly almost always, which is more then I can say about the average 3d game. There are nice effects for attacks, and the monster designs are well done. On the downside, the character models are not detailed enough, and they change very little with the additions of armor. Most classes have 3 sprite changes(Tamer only has one, and that's juts a colour swap) and a few colour swaps.

Character Selection--9: There are a total of 16 playable characters, which is quite a large selection. But what sets Red Stone apart from other MMORPGS is the unique Transformation System. Let's say you choose to start off as a Squire, who wields sword and shield. At any point in the game, you can switch to a mighty Warrior brandishing a large blade or axe. This is done with a simple button press. All the classes are unique in design and all serve, a different but equally useful purpose. Even the main healing and support class, the Priest, can morph into the powerful Fallen Angel and cast powerful light spells.

Sound--4: The game offers a limited 16 BGM tracks, but somehow they all seem to fit the area they are in(save for a few examples). The BGM is fine when you first start playing, but after leveling in a single spot with the same track for a while it starts to get repetitive. As for SE, it's pretty much the standard. Each monster type has it's own SE, as does each skill.

Questing--7: The game offers 3 types of quests. The first, general quests are like standard quests in any MMO. Delivery quest, Hunt X of Y quest, Talk to X quest. They sometimes try to fit these in with the storyline somehow, and usually it doesn't work. As for rewards, there are very few general quests that are actually worth completing. Most give a low exp award, but there are a few that give a nice exp bonus for doing not so much. The second category, Title Quests are very similar to General Quests in that what you have to do to complete them is very similar. Where these two differ is the reward. Title quests reward your character with a permanent "Title" that can do various things ranging from boosting stats to increasing inventory size. These titles come in various levels, and are leveled by doing additional quests. Most are fairly simple to complete. The third category are Main Quests. These are the quests that progress the storyline. The quests behind the storyline aren't all that spectacular, but in my opinion the storyline itself is. As for rewards from Main Quests, they are usually decent EXP rewards, but there are some titles that can only be gained through Main Quest as well.

However, the thing that really saves Questing in Red Stone are Secret Dungeons(Hereafter abbreviated as SDs). SDs are similar to instances in other games. You enter them by collecting a special key dropped by monsters in regular dungeons, and can only collect they key and enter these SDs as a party.(Although some Sds are so simple that many can solo them) The party moves through the Sd, completing the necessary tasks, and is rewarded with a hefty EXP reward at the end(sometimes accompanied by a gold reward as well). These SDs are available at almost every level, and they are very popular with the community.

User Interface--9: The user interface is simple and easy to learn. Left click to move around and attack with a basic skill(this skill is changeable to many skills of your choice). You can also add a second tier skill that activates when you have enough CP(Charge Points, similar to Mana in other MMOS) then will re-use the first tier skill to re-boost your CP. You can also set a more powerful skill to activate to right click, and a helpful skill(such as a heal or a buff) to activate when right-clicking on another player. The chat macros are very simple, exclamation mark before message to shout, and /playername to PM. The numbers 1-5 are used on your quick items belt for potions or buffing items, and the letters Q-T and A-G are reserved for custom skill placement. The only complaint I have with this system is that it is difficult to target yourself for a buff or a heal, especially when combatting large foes.

PvE Combat--7: The world of Red Stone is vast, and there are many possibilities for leveling spots. However, there are only a few of the best spots. And this sometimes results in long lines for partying in this spot. The base of PvE is pretty simple, just head to a spot and kill. Most mobs that give good exp are easy enough to kill, but there are a few spots where a Priest is a must.

PvP Combat--5: Team Combat in Red Stone is nice. There are basically two options for team combat. Either get your Guild Master to book a Guild vs. Guild fight with another Guild Master, then it's just a GvG fight at a specified time. Kill someone, and your guild earns points equal to their level. Either eliminate the enemy or have the most points at the end of the match to win. However, the winners of such a fight earn nothing but the glory. The other option is a Siege War. Every Saturday at 12PM-4PM EST, depending on how many points your guild achieved in Point War(fighting monsters to earn points), you will either try and capture another guild's Guild Hall, or defend your own Guild Hall from another attacking guild. There is a limited number of guilds that can own a guild hall of a specific level, and only one can hold the coveted Level 5 Guild Hall.

As individual PvP goes, theres none of it in the main server. However, there is a Duel Server where anyone can make a character of a fixed level, and duke it out with others in a 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4 or 5v5 match. As usual, this is just for fame, there are no actual rewards. However, the Duel Server is still a fun place to kill some time.

Game Economy--6: The international version of Red Stone is still new, so the economy is still a young one. Red Stone doesn't have the standard system of items having + amounts. Items have various enchantments, which could be almost anything you could want in the game. Better drops occur from being higher level, and boosting your Luck attribute. There are wide ranges of item levels, magically enchanted R items, class-specific T set items, Deluxe and Ultimate versions of regular items, and even coveted Unique and Deluxe Unique items.

There is no in-game auction house or equivalent, rather items are sold player-to-player through street stalls. It is fairly simple to make money, either sell all drops to NPC merchants for a low profit, or sell valuable items to other players through street stalls for a high profit.

Fun Factor--8: Red Stone has the classic feel of games such as Diablo and various old school MMOs, while still featuring unique twists that set the game apart from other MMOs out there. The community is extremely friendly and always willing to help those who are willing to help themselves. So whether meeting new friends, diving into dungeons, or just having fun is your thing, I highly reccomend trying Red Stone.
