Top 10 MMOs that left a mark in gaming industry

Posted by Princessdoll in Untagged

Princessdoll
I'm really happy that my previous con event went out well, but then again this has nothing to do with this article I am going to post. Before I post this article I'm already expecting a lot of trolls, I mean what I'm about to discuss are the top 10 mmos that "i think" have left a mark through out the gaming industry. Either they have done something first, changed some way on how to play, implement things better than the previous games or a total evolution of a game. These top 10 falls to one of those categories that we cannot forget. But still it doesn't mean all are good because both peak of fandom up to downfall will be shown too. Well, on some games and not all. Again, this is just based on the original article and if you think you disagree, feel free to make your own top 10. I mean, there are lots of blog sites out there and no one is stopping you to write, right? 10.The Sims Online - When The Sims Online was first announced, it caused a great deal of excitement throughout the video game industry. The game that had become a phenomenon both inside gaming circles and in the world beyond, was going to be available to play online. No longer would players be restricted to interacting with their own creations and NPCs. Instead, they would be doing what the game itself simulates: interacting with other people. The IP alone, a popular video game franchise that was at the height of its popularity, should have meant success for the game. The reality of the situation, however, was quite different. The end result of The Sims Online was that players found it underwhelming. It somehow failed to capture the elements of the original IP that made the game a best-seller and Will Wright a household name. While the game actually managed to nearly six year existence, going through a branding change (briefly known as EA-Land), to finally be canned for good on August 1st, 2008, The Sims Online is widely viewed as one of the industry's big failures, made even more impactful on the genre as a whole by showing the MMO world that a strong IP alone is not enough to carry a game to success. 9.ToonTown Online - From the folks at Disney Interactive, it's easy for the more hardcore among MMO gamers to scoff and simply stroll by a title like Toontown Online when walking down the Memory Lane of the genre's history. What can be more difficult to remember are the doors that were opened by this game that were eventually walked through by games like Wizard 101, Free Realms, Fusion Fall and others that followed behind it. Toontown Online introduced us all to the idea of MMOs for kids. Replacing the often brutal combat of most MMOs with comic gags, restricting chat to make it kid friendly and kid safe and generally creating an atmosphere that allowed parents to feel comfortable letting their young children spend time in an online world. By popularizing the idea of children's MMORPGs, Disney Interactive was able to expand the audience for MMOs and push away from the often ultra-violent, fantasy setting reputation that had built up since the first MMOs were introduced in 1996. 8.EVE Online - When EVE Online debuted back in 2003, it did so with somewhere around 50,000 subscribers. Today, the space-based sandbox MMORPG boasts over 300,000 total subscribers. While there are some who would scoff at those numbers and point to games like World of Warcraft and its 11 million subscribers as a true measure of success, calling EVE Online's comparatively meager 300,000 a failure, the players and developers of the game would beg to differ. Regardless of what the future might hold for this game and its franchise, it has solidified its place in the MMO history books by defying the trend in MMO subscribers, especially for an independent project. Generally speaking, the number of subscribers that any given MMORPG sports is at or near its peak soon after launch. From there, it's a question of retention, with the scale fluctuating slightly throughout the life of the game but generally trending in the downward direction. With EVE Online, the opposite has been true. Each year, the game has grown in population (paid subscribers) from the year before so that six years after its launch, it is still a thriving MMO in a very difficult and competitive market. 7.City of Heroes - For years, the MMORPGs were looked at as an extension of the fantasy-based RPG genre. In other words, any MMO worth its salt would include swords, elves, dragons and a host of other familiar conventions. Eventually, the preconceptions surrounding MMOs slackened, and science fiction found its way in. it was a logical leap, with sci-fi and fantasy often lumped together in genre classification anyway. Then, along came Cryptic Studios and NCsoft back in April of 2004 with a new and some would say risky proposition in the form of City of Heroes, the genre's first superhero MMO. The idea must have caught on because not only has City of Heroes grown to support a companion game, City of Villains, but at least two new titles in the form of Champions Online and the upcoming DC Universe Online have come up to help round out this genre to allow superheroes to take their place as staples in the MMO world right up there with ships and swords. 6.Darkfall - One of the most controversial MMOs ever launched, Darkfall did something that many thought impossible: It rose from the dead. Like the proverbial phoenix, the game rose from what many thought was long dead ashes. The 2009 launch of Aventurine's game surprised many MMO followers, developers, players and journalists alike who, after eight years of announced development and an extensive media blackout lasting years, had dismissed the game as vaporware. Whether you like the game, or hate the game, it is difficult to argue its place in the history of MMOs as what might possibly be its biggest surprise. 5.Dungeons and Dragons Online - Dungeons and Dragons Online launched in 2006 to less than glowing reviews both professional and player made with criticisms focusing on the instanced nature of the game and the subscription fee that came along with it, combine that with the extraordinarily high and varied expectations of a group of people who grew up with the franchise and the result was a game in trouble. Recently though, D&D Online solidified its place in MMO history by successfully moving from a subscription online revenue model to a free-to-play item shop model. The move, made nearly seamlessly, came at a time when the subscription vs. item shop debate among players was at its height. Meeting with very little initial criticism, probably given primarily to the fact that the game had been dismissed by many as "failed," the revamp seems to be having a positive effect on the game and its players, giving the struggling MMO a second change at life. Turbine's move with DDO is already being discussed by players and developers alike as a way to bolster flagging subscription-based MMOs. Whether this comes to fruition as a common practice or not remains to be seen. 4.Ultima Online - Ultima Online's place in history was solidified a long time ago. While it may not have been the first MMO ever released, it has developed a reputation over the last decade plus if it life as the grandfather of the modern MMO. UO may be the single MMO with the most overall influence on every game that came after it in its genre. Many of today's development talent, for example, played and loved the game and often get together to tell stories of the "good old days" when they come together at conventions and trade shows. 3 EverQuest http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/2790/everquestonlineadventur.jpg While Ultima Online may be the game that get a generation of fantasy RPG gamers into the idea of MMOs, EverQuest was the game that popularized the genre with the general gaming public and beyond. It could be said that EverQuest, launched in 1999, was the genre's World of Warcraft before Blizzard ever even thought about making its way into the MMO industry. Known affectionately by players as "EverCrack," the original game finally brought the 3D perspective RPG to the online world. Historically, EverQuest was the first MMO to really shout beyond the walls of the genre and out into the world of the general public, convincing games who were used to paying nothing beyond the price of a box to shell out for a monthly subscription and really gave birth to the MMO phenomenon, paving the way for the next big game, World of Warcraft, to be the massive success that it was. 2.Star Wars Galaxies - Most of the games on this list earned their place by doing something positive for the genre, and SOE's Star Wars Galaxies is no exception. The difference though is that while SWG's impact was a positive learning experience for the genre as a whole, their contribution was, in the end, anything but positive for those involved. I won't waste your time or mine on explaining the nitty gritty details of the Galaxies NGE other than to say that when Sony Online Entertainment radically changed the design and function of their already pre-existing game, the entire industry took notice. It's a classic case of learning from the mistakes of others as players who were negatively impacted by the sudden and radical change rose up to very vocally berate the decision and even today, mere mention of this debacle sparks strong and passionate responses. So, in the end, the entire industry now knows enough not to mess with the major design of a game post-launch and at the very least the makers of the next Star Wars MMO know enough to make it "feel starwarsy enough" the first time around. 1.World of Warcraft - It's not like we could have a conversation about history making MMORPGs without giving the top spot to the single most influential MMO ever created in Blizzard's World of Warcraft. For better or worse, this game in particular has become synonymous with the name of the genre. When Blizzard set their eyes of making an MMO, they did so by examining the games that came before it, by looking at the very history that has been partially laid out in this list, and taking what their developers felt were the best and most successful aspects of each. They were, and continue to be, informed by what came before them. When World of Warcraft subscription numbers began to roll out, with numbers in the millions that were unheard of before, the whole world took notice. The success of World of Warcraft has expanded the MMORPG genre by making the space more appealing for major financial investment and today, in the era of WoW's dominance, we are seeing more MMOs produced than ever before. Now, whether this fact is a positive or a negative in your books is entirely up to you. The undeniable fact is though, that no matter what you opinion is, you can't deny the mark that WoW has left and continues to leave on the world of MMOs. Well, for me I think why WOW is starting to downfall because of "some" players who says "wow clone" to every released MMO even if it's not a similar game to WOW. Also others that uses this word freely that don't even bother to see if it's really worthy to be called a clone. Because of this, some new players doesn't want to try WOW anymore because it's making a bad impression thus leaving a mark of "players of WOW are all big-headed".

About the time Trekkies are starting to exhaust the special features on their new "Star Trek" DVD's and Blu-ray discs, they can expect to see the franchise's long-awaited MMO ready to go live. Though it's been in development for about half a decade, it looks like all systems are go for 2010, and the first class of cadets for "Star Trek Online" will see the game's closed beta test start up on January 12th in preparation for its February 2nd launch. "We're all very happy to be able to let you know that 'Star Trek Online' will be in Open Beta from January 12 - January 26, 2010," the announcement on StarTrekOnline.com states. "Keys will be given out on a first come, first served basis, and can be acquired right here on startrekonline.com." Applications are being accepted right now for the beta program, which requires a registered Cryptic account. Those deemed worthy will be notified via email. The game will take place in the year 2409 on the original Star Trek timeline, though the events that occurred in J.J. Abrams' film prior to Spock and Nero heading back in time to create an alternate future will be a part of the universe's established history. I am not a Star Trek fanatic but I know some people here will appreciate this info that I found.. Feel free to comment though I'm already saying it that I am not a fanatic in Star Trek saga..

Top 5 Most Hated NPC's in Online Games

Posted by Princessdoll in Untagged

Princessdoll
After watching pacman's fight yesterday thanks to streaming, (lol at Cotto's running method up to round12) I was really happy that he is gaining a great name from 0 to hero they say. Anyway this has nothing to do with what I'm about to write now, I just made a list of my top 5 most hated NPC. Well, if you love something you hate something too right? These are the times when you really want to grab the NPC through your monitor if you can, then just smash it to pieces or kill it badly! I just want to share my ran- I mean.. My list... lol! Don't expect much as I only put the common jobs of NPCs that are used by most games. 5. NPC Job changer - not all! But some are really mean you just want to cry out loud. Ever experience being a noob? First time to play the game and you're so excited to change job that when you reach the right level the NPC would say "You need to give me this and this and this... and so on" before you can change your job. Of course you have no choice but to follow the instructions of the NPC because whatever you do, you can't argue with it and it won’t answer back as it is only set to answer chosen questions. Too bad your dream job is reachable but still feels it was taken away by the NPC. 4. NPC Dealers - Really! Can somebody just tell me where the hell it the right NPC to get the items/clothes I need?! So many NPC scattered throughout the map that you are so confuse which one holds the right items you want to buy. Pretty mean right? Can't they just have a main store or mall where all the items are there? Do they really have to travel in different places then will ask for your help because they are stuck and can't move? I mean "What the? Why did you even bother leaving your town if you’re gonna be stuck in the middle of the dessert?!" 3. NPC random - they are the type of NPC were they have no significance at all. They just either complains a lot, talks to you automatically whenever you pass them by or just say nonsense. You don't even know what they are doing there anyway! No quest nor items nor any important stories to say. Just a display in a corner of the street to make you be curious as to what could they possibly be doing there. Maybe will give you item if you talk to it, but no, regretfully, it's just there to make you forget what you are suppose to do for a while? 2. NPC PK mode - Not all have this but still it really bothers you to fight an NPC. Why on earth do they have godly stats? And you have to be really high level before bothering to defeat them?? Ok so the developers gave an answer to players demanding to kill the NPC by making a high leveled NPC. I just want to kill it, just make me feel like killing it for once because of their quest, items and upgrades but why can we only attack the same NPC? The one and only NPC that has a high skills?? That's too cruel!! 1. NPC Upgrader - I don't know about you guys but really I suck in luck BAD!! So BAD that I really want to just kill this NPC if I have to! Most online games have upgrader weapons, equipments and clothes. Almost all requires a good luck charm to be successful and if you’re one of the players who was chosen by the NPC that your item will be destroyed no matter what stats you have then you'll understand me. Well luck is luck and whatever the chances are, you still have a chance to fail. Even if it’s a little percentage of fail, it still bothers you right? Especially if you worked hard to obtain the item you want. Don't want it to be destroyed in seconds. Nothing seem to make you jaw drop by looking at your months of grinding item be destroyed in just 2 seconds. It hurts badly!!

iPhone Numbers Being Stolen By Games

Posted by Princessdoll in Untagged

Princessdoll
A class-action lawsuit filed in San Francisco wants to take iPhone game developer Storm8 to task for what it calls "malicious software code." The suit accuses Storm8 of exploiting a backdoor method to retrieve users' phone numbers without their permission in games such as "iMobsters" and "Vampires Live." We reached out to Apple for a comment, and though the representative we spoke wasn't familiar with the case, he did articulate Apple's position on the practice Storm8 has been accused of. "There is no violating privacy," Apple's VP of iPod and iPhone product marketing Greg Joswiak told MTV News. "That's one of the things we look for, so if that did happen I'm either unaware or unfamiliar." The lawsuit, does not point any fingers at Apple. It even corroborate's Apple's policy. "Apple does not provide to sellers the personal information of iPhone or iPod Touch users to App Store developers, such as Storm8," the suit reads. Joswiak explained that any developers found engaging in such practices could face having their apps pulled from the App Store. "That's one of the things that we're always looking for," Joswiak said. "That's part of the beauty of the way we have the App Store set up, because if you find something like that out we can deal with it. A) We can pull it down. B) We know who the developer is. Remember there's nothing anonymous." Storm8 currently has dozens of apps downloadable through the App Store, which have not been taken down, and contends that number farming was a "bug" in their games' software. The lawsuit contends that coding capable of pulling numbers would have to be too complex to be an accident. Bug or not, if any of games are found doing such things again, there could have more than consumers to worry about, since Joswiak explicitly called such information farming without consent "verboten."

Tips in “GM Road Runner Event”

Posted by Princessdoll in Untagged

Princessdoll
What is this event? It’s about the CTR new event where you have to chase the GMs. It’s really interesting, funny in a sense and full of players who want to take the GMs down and pawned. The players keep tracking down the GM and even do teamwork just to catch the GM. Some even blocks the other players to just win. I am expecting this to happen. This is not a regular event, you have to use your head and need a team to focus on chasing the GM really. Some players quarrel a lot saying it’s unfair because some do teamwork and some do solo but the point of the game is to not just chase the GM, you have to plan a strategy on everything! Firstly, you’re not the only one who wants to have fame and glory, lots of players wants to have it! Either personal reason or just for fun to chase the GMs, they are still all your enemies! Yes, you don’t have to just deal on the GM himself, but your enemies are the co-players who want the prize to. It’s like the mobs are the players then after you beat them you can go fight the boss (GM). Secondly, make a plan on how to deal with the co-players. It’s best to get used on the map “Section A” and do some shortcuts. You have to be the first to arrive at the first destination point of the GM so that you can wait and catch the GM afterwards. Thirdly, if someone already beaten you on busting the GM’s car. Try to block the one who is following the GM. so that the possibility of that player to catch the GM will lessen. This way the player’s name will be removed on the GMs view and it’s your time to chase it. Advantages of having teamwork: (a)You can share the blessing (share the reward etc.) (b)You can talk and make strategy plan (assign which one will block the others while who will chase the GM etc.) (c)Easier to catch the GM because your many. Funny part though is sometimes the GM plays with the players like car toys. They keep changing directions and do things that will make the player’s cars bump to each other or bump on the sideways which is funny to watch really. I sometimes just watch them and laugh.

My favorite event! CTracer Trivia Event!

Posted by Princessdoll in Untagged

Princessdoll
The Trivia Event started lots of players are playing the game just to participate on the said event! Reason? Just for fun I guess.. Fame?? Ranking… CT (currency in-game)!!! Ok fine, you get the point right? It’s easy to earn CTs at the trivia Event, every successful login on the championship lobby you already won 5k CT. 30K for the 1st placer 20k for the 2nd placer 10k for the 3rd placer Mechanics? Very simple! Just wait for the time the Trivia Event will start, after that a GM will give a question. The answer to that question will be the password for entering the Room at the Championship lobby and once you’re inside congratulations you have 5k CT! But that’s not the end of it; you will also prove your driving skills because the Room will start a match which will determine the 3rd to 1st placers. I really enjoyed this event, lots of players interacting, and talking, and spamming (lol! :P) and trying to show they are fastest to all. Also answering the question is a bit challenging, though it is easy really you just need to read a bit at their website for the answers or go to some sections in your home area to see it! I hope I can play with some of my friends, they are a different time zone and I know they are enjoying the Trivia Event at night. (my time to play is by morning.. sad..) Hope to see and meet some players there!

Why youth are Hooked to Online Gaming

Posted by Princessdoll in Untagged

Princessdoll
“I played the game for three years now because this is where I found Friends who share the same level of interest as I do. Friends that cannot be seen in-real or at close range like classmates, but friends who can offer a relationship that could stand the test of time.” This is the exact statement of a student who was scolded by his father after he was caught playing an Online Game during the times he should be in class. Computer addiction could be very alarming as told by the experts in Human Behavior, but have they asked why children of today are pulled into the game? One of the main advantages of having an Internet Connection is the opportunity to reach out other people, wherever they are or whatever time zone they are in. As long as you are online, the possibilities are endless. An Online Games is one of the possibilities you could think of. Is it for Companionship? -In Online Games you can be someone that is really not you. Or you can be popular by showing your true self which the people in your place can’t seem to appreciate. Or you can gain friends, interact with the same level as you are, or be someone who everyone wants to be. Just like coming out of a tight shell, they can have the access to express themselves without worrying if they offended some or break rules because, well it’s just an internet! Being lonely because you’re a shy or quiet type but once you type something on your keyboard you start talking like it’s not really you? Some can easily express themselves because they know no one will know it’s them. You are just one out of billions of people who is living in this world. Of course you won’t be recognized by anyone that easily, and by expressing yourself freely without boundaries and someone noticed you and accepted you from who you are, you start to feel relief and be thankful that internet work wonders. Is it for Boredom? -It is obvious right? You don’t have anything to do or you want to try something out. It’s like you can choose if you want to play basketball while the sun is hot and up or you can play fighting games inside your house sitting pretty in your chair and with air con/electric fan to make you feel more comfortable. Laziness is showing a bit but well it’s your life anyway. You’re just bored to death inside your house and the only thing available to do is play online games. At least you can still interact to some people even if you’re not outside. Is it for refuge? -We’re going to discuss refuge. The youth of today, without being bias or one-sided is considerably weaker than the earlier generations. They tend to stumble on the lightest of problems, and crippled on the slightest of mistakes. Online games became a staple “point of refuge”. This world is a natural disaster playground. We have typhoons, volcanos, and man-made disasters all year round. An also real life problem occurs too like family problems, financial need or accident issues. Some individuals may lose hope because of this but others divert the fear and condense it to a whole new world found in cyberspace. “At least there are no disaster occurrences in-game, excluding lags and company issues. All in all it is a safe ground for us, and sometimes we forget even for a brief period of time that some of my family members got killed in an accident.” --------- Actually the hardest debate I’ve encountered is with my dad, and it’s not even religion related. The debate is about what is the good thing in wasting money just to play online games. How am I going to explain this to a work-dedicated individual who never experienced playing online games. What’s the purpose of spending thousands of dollars for a simple pixilated thing that you can’t even call your own where as you can already pay the bills with that sum of money. The debate is close to eternal, but I’m sure some will understand because I’m sure only a gamer by passion and heart will understand another gamer. It is the topic that leads into confusion, questioning oneself, and maybe guilt. Well I guess that makes sense, learn to balance out things and priorities and you’ll never go wrong with your life. And, as I may quote, “there is no greater MMORPG than Life”.

FULL REVIEW OF LUNA ONLINE

Posted by Princessdoll in Untagged

Princessdoll
Let’s go inside the game while I introduce you Luna Online. “Luna Online” is a recently localized MMORPG from gPotato (This is the client I am currently playing). The characters and style have much similar to Ragnarok Online, well the beginner’s clothes reminds me of it because of the color. Popular in Asia, this game is more focus on “dating MMO” where you can find a match to your character, have social networks and stuff, make a family then own a farm! (Err.. wait, you will learn how to date and have a family?!o_o) This is an f2p (free to play) so you don’t have to worry about entrance fee in playing this game. It also has cash shop too for extra accessories and other flashy things that you can live to not having it. So basically yes, seems fine to try the game. I tried the game, made some quest, a NPC keeps popping every time I need to learn new things, tried the emoticons (it’s fun!^o^), grind a bit, change job, grind again with quest, excited to have wings (I want to fly!) so grind again, after that I rest a bit and talk to strangers, I mean players. In the end here’s what I think: ADVERTISEMENT: -I got distracted at the advertisement and pictures Luna Online showed. The picture like a guy pulling a plant in a farm (and the plant has a facial expression!!!) made me wonder what kind of game is this? When someone told me Luna is like a Harvest Moon because you can have a farm and animals and plants I got excited (Ok so I’m being biased on this side because I love Harvest Moon). I also got hype to the concept of “Harvest Moon Online look-a-like? I like!!” But some pictures can be misleading too, like a picture of both girl characters kissing, (I mean it! Both girls kissing!!!) An online game where both genders can kiss?? This IS THE 1ST online game where both characters can kiss and same genders too can do it! So yeah I just warned you on the pictures, you should be at a right age to view it. I am not joking; the pictures and advertisements should have parental guidance because it can mislead players who can view/see these things; CHARACTERS: -It’s a form of chibi so if you don’t like anime type characters this is not the game for you. Your character can form balloon expression, do actions such as dance (I can’t believe they are good dancers!) and most of all they can really do expressions such as sad, happy, angry, confuse depending on what your character is saying. You can choose different hairstyles and faces, it’s a bit simple and there’s not much to choose because it’s only few. STORY: -A life between elves and humans. It’s a floating island that was made that way to have a peaceful life because of monsters/dark forces roaming around below. And so on and so on, it’s a fantasy story like Peter Pan. Well, it reminds me really of Peter Pan because the island is floating and the characters are like children. The people that look old are the NPCs. No special attraction on the story really, just a normal fantasy-adventure type story. GRAPHICS: -The graphics is nice. The details of the characters are not beautiful but cute. Too cute that it really reminds you of Ragnarok Online just imagine it in 3D. It’s not that heavy on your PC and the colors are so light like a cotton candy type. It is eye-catchy due to cuteness but not beautiful to the point that you will be amaze. Overall of the graphics is fairly nice and cute. SOUNDS AND MUSIC: -The background music is nice and refreshing BUT the character’s voices are terrible. For the first time this is the only online game that I can’t appreciate the character’s voices and skill music. I don’t know if my ears have a problem but really it’s horrible. Whoever made the sound of characters and skill effect music please change it because I would rather play Luna when my sounds are off. QUEST SYSTEM: - The typical one. Watch me do it. Talk to the NPC over there, heads to get quests, and then turn them to get your reward to the NPC here. It’s like; go kill X monsters, go speak to Y NPC, now return to Z NPC to get that. One thing that can make you hold on in this kind of quest is the Map System displayed when you open the world map. The map shows the location of NPCs, they blink if you can have a quest or turn in a quest. So it’s not hassle to find the NPCs. USER INTERFACE: -It’s quite easy and nice. The layout from mini-map, health bar, action buttons, etc. was very well made. They don’t fill-up the screen and yet all the information you need is clearly provided. CRAFTING: -You don’t have to do a quest in order to learn crafting. Your character (before you can even made one) already knows how to craft! It’s up to you to gather the materials needed. Also, the material needed appears in the crafting window whatever you put there. So it won’t lead you to trash items that you don’t need and you will know what loots can be thrown, craft or stored. DATING SYSTEM: -One of the unique things about this game is the dating system. It has a match maker program which matches you with someone inside the game depending on your likes and dislikes! It’s up to you if you want to try it, my character don’t have a partner so far because I don’t want to. Anyway, once you found a partner you can kiss each other, date, or do the next big thing, that’s to have a family! (Honestly parental guidance is necessary for the young ones. Geesh…) Once you have a family it has a family role concept too. It is compose of a father, a mother, and so on. FARMING SYSTEM: -The farming system! At last! Or is it awwww…. Bad News is you can only have a Farm if you have a family (it’s so unfair! What if my character wants to be single?!). It has a required level before you can buy a land, requires money to buy it, requires points to have and requires maintenance tax. Yes! Too many requirements! It shows that owning a farm you must be responsible. It also wakes us up in reality that owning your own land you must pay for a tax or you can say farewell to your loving farm. The good side about that is you can take care of plants, animals, even go fishing and all your hard efforts will be rewarded by using/trading the harvest things in the future of your character. GAMEPLAY: -To start, you have to choose between two races available: Humans or Elves. The differences between the two are minor; only slight variations in stats which can be overcome by equipment later on. After that you have three classes to choose from: Mage, Rouge and Fighter. The classes are pretty much what you'd expect from other MMORPGs in terms of playing style. Once you made a character, it’s time to login inside the game. It is your 1st time right? So your character’s name will be announced at the whole server as they welcome you from joining them. Really this method is a bit old but still effective. Some players will welcome you through the shout chat. So if you just want to play the game without someone noticing you or you are hiding to some of your friends then don’t even bother. They will know you are playing it because of the announcement. You’re already busted! Three classes may not seem like much, but at various points as you level up you'll be able to specialize into a subclass within one of the three core classes. Unlike most other games, you're able to switch between subclasses regardless of your previous choice; giving you a lot of freedom when deciding what you want to do, and a lot of variation should you get bored with just whacking things. You can have small wings by finishing a required quest and must be in a required level. It’s a bit entertaining for the point because you are excited to have wings so you won’t mind grinding for now. After that there is also a required level of a fully grown wings (yes the big ones) but that’s so high you won’t except to level that fast right? Just finish some quest for now and grind again. The sense of humor the monsters has makes me laugh sometimes! As I was about to kill a blue poring look-a-like (name: slime) I was surprised to find out that it can speak! Well, you can’t have a conversation with it, but, it is a bit entertaining! Slimes talk about how soft the grass is; turtles comment about how they are faster than Michael Phelps, and the list goes on! In fact, every monster, animal, or person that one can beat up has their own comments to make, and all of them are really funny and entertaining! MY COMMENT: -I got disappointed on the farming system due to I don’t want to have a family but I want to have a farm. But the rest are ok I really enjoyed the “emoticons” they are cute expressions your character makes depending on what your character is saying like the picture below; One that irritates me is the grinding here but as long as I know I have something to do then it keeps me entertained a bit.
